Pro League — in development
Six a side. Winner takes the pot.
What it is
Once enough academies in a region are playing, each one puts up a team of its best six and they enter an event. Ten teams is sixty players. Everybody pays to enter and the winning team takes the pot.
Why it is different
A tournament for individuals is a tournament, and there are hundreds of them. A room full of teammates watching their six is a dual meet, and Jiu-Jitsu does not have one of those.
Divisions
Two weight divisions
Under 200 lb
One team per academy.
200 lb and up
An academy with the people can enter a team in each division.
The rules
Advanced rules, team score
Six a side
Six rotations of two minute rounds. Everybody plays everybody.
Submissions finish
One point, or two inside thirty seconds.
Position scores
A pass held for a five count, or a pin kept to the buzzer. One point.
Team total wins
Rounds are scored individually and added up. The team with the most points takes the tie.
Same safety rules as every other league. The tap is instant, no slams, no cranking.
Status
